My First Walk

Today I got to go for my very first walk. I had my last injeckshuns a while ago and at last it is safe for me to be outside. Yippeee!

Mummy and Daddy bought me my very own collar – it is red and red is my favourite colour – and it has a silver tag with my name on it. I look very smart in it. The collar means I can go on a lead so that I don’t wander off and get lost which is a good thing.

Mummy and Daddy took me to a place called Queens Park. The outside is so exciting. There are lots of sights and smells that I never saw before in my whole life. Birds are funny creatures, aren’t they? They have wings instead of paws which is magical. I tried to get close to them because I wanted to see their little feathers but they kept flying away whenever I tried. Perhaps they’re shy.

I smelled the ground and the leaves and the lampposts and the trees and the grass and, and everything! It was so exciting.

I love playing out. Do you like playing out too?

I was soon quite puffed out, so Mummy and Daddy said it was time to go home, and we went back inside for a long drink of water – boy was I thirsty! I like going for walks. Do you like going for walks?
